Watch Band Standards |
Skagen offers several types of watch bands to accommodate most customer preferences, which includes leather straps, mesh bands, and metal bands/links. The watch band is a very important feature of a watch it not only reflects the design of the watch, it most importantly reflects the commitment to quality of the watch company. Of all the features a watch can offer, none of them will matter if your watch does not fit properly, is uncomfortable to wear, or worst of all falls off and is lost.
As always, Skagen is educated on this topic and adheres to the highest of standards in regards to the tolerances of our band fits and attachments. Below is an illustration which explains the measurement used for our minimum length specifications; you will note the measurements are taken from the inner diameter of a buckled watch, and the specifications vary by strap-type. |

Watch Band Adjustment
Skagen Signature Mesh
- Skagen signature mesh bands are easily adjustable and are flexible.
Ajusting the Clasp - Skagen signature mesh bands are easily adjustable in just three simple steps:
LIFT - SHIFT - PRESS LIFT: place a small tool (flathead screwdriver or adjustment tool) in the slot on the clasp. Lift the bar in the direction facing away from the straight pin (place the tool so the handle is in the direction of the case of the watch). Leveraging the tool against the straight pin may result in the straight pin bending. SHIFT: the adjustable buckle to the desired position (make sure the clasp is set in one of the indentations on the back of the band). PRESS: press the slotted clasp closed – not using the straight pin as leverage to protect against bending.
Securing the Clasp - Skagen signature mesh clasps are easily secured in three easy steps:
HOOK - SNAP - CLASP Pull the Hook over the pin, Snap the flat clasp closed, then close the security Clasp

SIZING A METAL LINK
Using small, pointed tool, insert tip into hole on underside of band and push the pin out. Grasp the pin and pull out. Arrows on band indicate direction that links are to be removed. In order to remove one link, two pins must be removed. If removing more than one link, remove an equal number of links from both sides to keep the symmetry of the wristband. After removing the necessary number of links, tap the remaining pins back into place using a small nylon head hammer.- Link bands are completely adjustable anywhere watches are serviced. |

“Lux” is a unit for measuring light. The difference between the lux and the lumen is that the lux takes into account the area over which the luminous flux is spread. A flux of 1,000 lumens, concentrated into an area of one square meter, lights up that square meter with an illuminance of 1,000 lux. However, the same 1,000 lumens, spread out over ten square metres, produces a dimmer illuminance of only 100 lux. |
| |
Recharge warning function: Second hand moves at two-second intervals. The second hand changes to a two second interval movement to indicate insufficient recharging. After exposing the watch to light, recharging takes place and the watch returns to one second interval movement. |
| |
Time setting notification: Second hand moves irregularly / 1sec-1sec - 2sec. When the second hand moves irregularly (1sec - 1sec - 2sec), it tells that the time setting was not done after the watch stopped (due to insufficient charge), and will continue to do so until the time is set. It is advised to set the time after each sufficient charge. |
